Earlier today Renault announced their new challenger for 2019 – the R.S.19.
At first glance, it seems very similar to the 2018 car. It features the same black and yellow ensemble that is familiar with the French manufacturer.
And, truthfully, it is. But that’s not a bad thing.
There is pressure on manufacturers to drastically change their liveries year on year from the fans. But if the livery isn’t bad or major sponsors have not changed, why should the livery be completely different?
Renault’s livery, the pairing of black and yellow, has always been a fan favourite, and to me, it would seem strange if Renault was any other colour pairing. Its like if Ferrari changed their livery so it wasn’t primarily red. It would be strange.
Toro Rosso has equally opted to keep their livery mostly the same, and that’s great, it’s a beautiful livery, as is Renault’s.
At first glance, parts of the car looked matte to me, instead of the shine that is popular. However, on closer inspection, this is not the case.
Nonetheless, this is a nice looking car, it’s a quick looking car. Hopefully this can translate to some speed on track.
