Sauber’s Marcus Ericsson believes that the team is now on a level playing field with Williams.
For the past two years in Formula 1, Sauber has been the slowest team, finishing last in the Constructor’s Championship. However, with the introduction of new management and a new partnership with Alfa Romeo, the team seems to be on the up.
At the same time, Williams seems to be sliding lower down the timesheets than they have done in previous years.
“It looks like we can compete on an equal footing with Williams,” Ericsson told German media.
“In the last two years, it was all about survival. Now it’s time for results. In practice, we are sometimes even with Force India or Toro Rosso, which is a huge step compared to the last two years.“
