Williams’ Valtteri Bottas will remain in Formula 1 next season, reportedly driving for either Williams or Renault, according to Finnish press.
Bottas was linked with a possible seat at Ferrari for 2017, however those rumours were diminished following the extension on current driver Kimi Raikkonen’s contract.
Following this, Bottas has been also linked with a possible seat at Renault, however it has not been confirmed where he will be.
The Finn has not commented on where he will go, as he wants to focus on the current season with Williams. Renault reportedly would like to sign Bottas, as an experienced driver would be good for the team in order to secure points for them, whereas it seems apparent that Williams would like to keep him, as out of him and teammate Felipe Massa, Bottas has generally finished better this season, securing points for the team.
